Our Board
The Club is fortunate to be able to draw upon a distinguished pool of volunteers who are willing to serve on the Board. Do not hesitate to contact the Board members if you have questions or would like to receive additional information regarding membership, participation in the Club's activities, sponsorship or any other issues which concern the Harvard Club of Sweden.
Johan Samuelsson - President
Johan received his MBA from Harvard in 1998 and his most memorable occasions at Harvard included learning ice hockey, ball room dancing and running along the Charles River. After having lived in the US for several years after graduating from HBS, Johan moved back to Sweden a few years ago. Johan has served on the Board since 2011 and was elected Club President in April 2012.

Erik Olofsson - Vice President
Erik graduated from the MBA programme at Harvard Business School in 2010. Erik joined the Board in April 2012 and was elected Vice President.

Erik Karlsson - Secretary
Erik graduated with a Master of Laws in the Harvard Law School Class of 2010. He is presently a Ph.D. candidate at Stockholm University and fondly recalls his first walk over the Weeks Bridge in Cambridge. Erik has served on the Board since 2011 and besides being the Club Secretary, he is engaged in both the Sports Committee and the Membership Committee.

Gunilla Isaksson - Communication Committee
Gunilla is one of the co-founders of the Club and started out as its Vice President. She served as President of the Club between October 2008 and April 2012. Gunilla is an LL.M from Harvard Law School and is currently Deputy Director at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, working mainly with Human Rights. She is one of the webmasters of the current website and also serves on the Social Committee.

Soki Choi - Social Committee
Soki has served on the Board since 2011 and served as Vice President from April 2011 to April 2012. Soki was a Visiting Ph.D. Researcher for the Class of 2010 as part of her Ph.D studies at the Karolinska Institute, which she completed in the spring of 2011. Her best memory of Harvard was the unique atmosphere around Cambridge with the Charles River and Widener Library.

Amanda Spaner Åkerman - Social Committee
Amanda is an LLM '09 graduate of Harvard Law School and currently a Senior Associate with the Cederquist Law Firm where she specializes in the areas of intellectual property, IT and media law. One of her best memories of her time at Harvard was the night of November 4, 2008, which stated off as a regular pub-night with her friends at Tommy Doyles in the Square but ended up as the historic evening when she watched Barack Obama being elected the 44th President of the U.S., thereby turning Cambridge on fire!
Amanda has served on the Board since 2010 and was Vice President until 2011. She is currently serving on, inter alia, the Social Committee.

Ingrid Hummingson - Event Manager
Ingrid has studied both at Harvard College and at the Graduate School of Arts Sciences. She has recently graduated from the Karolinska Institute, where she studied to become a Medical Doctor. Ingrid has been Event Manager since 2008 and has served on the Board since 2009.

Graham Barnes - Scholarship Committee
Graham graduated from the Harvard Divinity School and later learned the practice of psychotherapy from Robert Goulding and Mary McClure Goulding at the Western Institute for Group and Family Therapy in California. He is also deeply engaged in cybernetics, which he learned from Gordon Pask in London. Graham has served on the Board since 2008.

Hugh Beach - Membership Committee
Hugh graduated from Harvard College and is Professor of Ethnology at Uppsala University. Hugh has served on the Board since 2009 and is currently engaged in, inter alia, the Membership Committee.

Charlotte Persson Gulda - Student President (currently at Harvard)
Charlotte is currently doing her PhD in Environmental Engineering at Harvard. She serves as the President of the Club's Student Chapter since January 2012 and joined the Board as Deputy Board member in April 2012.

Maria Gulda Persson - Past Student President (currently at Harvard)
Maria is finishing her PhD in Applied Physics at Harvard this spring. She founded the Club's Student Chapter in February 2010 and served as its President until January 2012. Maria joined the Board as Deputy Board member in April 2012.

Patrik Johansson - International Liaison Officer
Patrik joined the Club as its first member after it was founded in May 2007, and he has since been a Club volunteer. He joined the Board in 2011.
